The Reebok i-run Plus treadmill is a slight upgrade from Reebok’s previous offering in the treadmill department,
the Reebok i-run. Just like the original i-run, the i-run Plus is also a foldable treadmill. When ready to use, it
measures 161 x 80 x 131 cm (LWH) and when folded, it is reduced to just 159 x 80 x 47 cm. The machine weighs almost
identical to its predecessor, coming in at 60 kg. It is also one of the lightest machines in the market. While
moving the i-run Plus around will be a whole much easier, the lightness of the machine makes it look a bit flimsy
while being used. The two wheels attached to the treadmill makes the moving process even more painless.
The i-run Plus is shipped with a 1.75 horsepower continuous motor. Having a continuous motor is an important key
when shopping for a treadmill. This kind of motor will not short out because of continuous use. You can squeeze in
2 hours of continuous running without fear of breaking the motor down. A continuous motor also provides a more
constant and accurate level of speed compared to a peak motor. However, at 1.75 horsepower, some users might feel
that the machine lacks in power. The 1.75 hp motor is able to produce speeds of up to 14 km/h or 8 mph. This speed
might be slow for serious runners, but it is more than enough for the average joggers who wants to build up
endurance. Just like its predecessor, the i-run Plus can simulate running outdoors through the use of incline.
However, it still retains the two levels of incline which can only be set manually. With only two levels to choose
from, increasing the resistance is near impossible when using this treadmill.
The i-run Plus has one of the smallest walking or running area among the treadmills available in the market. It
measures in at 40 x 125 cm or 16 x 50 inches. A lot of treadmills are now available with 20 x 60 inch running
decks. Small persons may not feel bothered by the small running deck. However, taller ones might have an unnatural
feeling when running on the i-run plus.
To monitor your progress, it comes with a large and easy to read LCD display that is backlit. It shows the time,
distance, heart rate, and the calories used up. You can choose from 6 preset programs which are mostly geared
toward weight loss. If your needs in a treadmill are basic, the Reebok i-run Plus treadmill is a good alternative
to the more expensive models and brands in the market.
